Home Modification Services in Georgia provide physical adaptations to the home to improve accessibility, mobility, and safety for older adults and individuals with disabilities. Services include:

2. Regulations
Home Modification Services are governed by the Georgia Department of Human Resources Division of Aging Services under the Older Americans Act (OAA) and Georgia Code Title 8, Chapter 2, Article 2, Part 2
3. Licensing or Certification
Providers must be licensed contractors for services costing more than $1,000. For services under $1,000, a licensed handyman may be used

The Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) and Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) are responsible for overseeing Home Modification Services

Individuals or family members contact their local Area Agency on Aging to apply for services. The process involves assessment, case management, and obtaining contractor bids
