TRAIN AND CERTIFY NEW HHAs
The Waiver Academy™ Caregiver Training Program uses an innovative, blended training model for training entities to use and qualify new home health aides (HHA). The foundation of the program is a competency-based curriculum that meets the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Conditions of Participation for Home Health Aide Services.
Waiver Academy™ program meets the 75-hour Federal CMS guidelines, as well as the specific requirements for both the state of New York and the New Jersey CHHA and Bridge program.
The curriculum includes:
59 hours of Waiver Academy online classes
17+ hours of in-person training, equally divided across six weeks
Demonstrating competency in performing hands-on skills (competency evaluation)
An end-of-program knowledge exam
The successful completion of both the knowledge exam and the competency evaluation is required before qualifying for the HHA.
